The Rainbow Hospice Ark, located at St. Matthew Center for Health, is a 15-suite inpatient unit designed to offer short-term care to patients who are experiencing pain or other symptoms associated with their terminal illness that is not manageable in other settings. The goal is to stabilize patients so they may return to their home environment.



Criteria for Care:

• Short-term stay to stabilize crisis situation
• Pain control
• Acute or chronic symptom management which cannot be provided in other settings
• Medication adjustment
• Observation
• Stabilizing treatment

The hospice team will determine if a patient is appropriate for this level and setting of care.

• Twenty-four hour presence and compassionate care from Rainbow Hospice staff
• Support from the entire hospice team including physicians, nurses, social workers, spiritual care staff, volunteers and home health aides

• Short term, acute care
