Support for Children and Families
Our children’s first encounters with grief and loss are very significant. How a child deals with this experience may begin to establish a pattern in his or her life—a map for how the child will persevere through and accommodate difficulties, how they will respond to their own needs as they grieve and how they will respond to others.
We know that children can be deeply affected by the loss of a loved one. We have a wealth of programs and resources to help children and their families through grief.
The Good Mourning Program for Children Teens and Families is the longest-running bereavement support program for children and their families in the Chicagoland area.
The Grief in Schools Program provides a customized set of resources based on a school community’s needs and circumstances.
