Planned Giving

Prepare for the Future by Investing in Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care Today

Non-profit hospice organizations such as Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care are significantly important to the community and face increasing challenges as the healthcare landscape changes.

Rainbow is committed to ensuring the safety net we provide to our neighbors – hospice and palliative care for the uninsured and underinsured, a continuum of bereavement services and clinician training and community education – survives.

You can help us provide exceptional end-of-life care for generations to come by including Rainbow in your estate, a future gift that costs you nothing now.

Bequests of all sizes are welcome, whether of cash, securities, real estate or other property. Your attorney or financial advisor can work with you to include Rainbow in your will or living trust. Should you desire to specify a particular restricted use of funds, Rainbow’s Development Office can help you prepare language that reflects your goals.

We offer some bequest options and sample language that may be useful:

Specific Bequests

“I give (state dollar sum, list other assets, or specify percent of estate) to Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care, 1550 Bishop Court, Mount Prospect, IL 60056, FEIN 36-3296367, to be used for the benefit of Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care.”

Residual Bequests

“I give all the residue (or specify percent of residue) of my estate to (repeat italicized language above).

Contingent Bequests

“In the event that (specify named beneficiary) does not survive me, I give (state dollar sum, list other assets, or specify percent of estate) to (repeat italicized language above).

In addition to cash gifts and bequests, friends of Rainbow may want to consider a range of planned giving opportunities that may offer donors income, tax breaks or other benefits during their lifetime, while furthering their philanthropic goals. These include gifts of appreciated stock, charitable gifts annuities and charitable remainder trusts. Your attorney or estate planning professional can advise you of the tax benefits relating to your particular financial situation.
